Research
What the Order Studies and Builds
Science saves lives. The Order treats research as a form of care and publishes everything it funds, whatever the result shows. A member who volunteers as a participant in a university study is counted as teaching, because the study cannot be run without them.
The Human Voluntary Control Atlas
Manuscript in preparation
Which functions of the body and mind can a person learn to govern by will, to what degree, by what training, and with what evidence? The Atlas maps the answer, function by function, and the Order funds it as the flagship of Enlightenment. Work built on the Atlas toward physical and mental healing is encouraged and will be published here. Read about the Atlas.
The Donor Health Loop
Open proposal, seeking a first site
Blood centers now hand donors real health data and then the data dies in an app. The Order has published an open proposal for a 100 donor pilot that routes a donor's measurements to the donor's own physician, with clinical confirmation before any diagnosis and outcomes tracked for 180 days. A full feasibility analysis, a concept note, and a statistical analysis plan with a common data model are offered freely to any blood center and health system that will run it. Read the proposal.
The Open Treasury
Operating
The Order's public treasury is itself a piece of research: whether a religious organization can publish every dollar in and out, in real time, with receipts that anyone can verify without trusting the publisher. The code is given away so that any congregation of any faith can run it. truth.soemt.org. How it works.
