Notes: Truth
Why the Order Publishes Its Money
A faith that asks for trust owes a record. The Order publishes every dollar in and every dollar out while the money is still moving, and it gives away the tools so that any congregation of any faith can do the same.
What Is Published
At truth.soemt.org anyone can read the treasury balance, every contribution, every payment out, the programs the money is assigned to, and the wallets that hold it. Reading is free and needs no account. The same data is readable by a machine, so a journalist, an auditor, or a member can check it without asking the Order for anything.
How a Contribution Works
The Order receives contributions in USDC, a dollar stablecoin, on the Base network, through x402. x402 is an open standard that uses a status code every web server already understands, 402 Payment Required, to let a payment travel with an ordinary web request. A giver chooses any amount; there are no tiers. The payment settles on chain, and the Order's system records it, assigns it to the pillar the giver named, and issues a receipt.
Receipts You Can Verify
Each receipt is a signed document: the contribution's details are written in a canonical form, signed by the Order's key, rendered as a PDF with a QR code, and anchored in a registry contract on chain. Anyone holding the PDF can confirm that the Order issued it and that it has not been altered, without trusting the Order or this website.
What Goes Out
Payments out are recorded the same way. Mercy funds buy student debt in whole tranches and cancel every loan inside them; no named person's debt is ever paid, members and founders included. Tuition and grants are paid directly to the school, never to a person, and every tuition record names the college or university that received it. Learners are never named anywhere in the system.
The Founders
Every transaction between the Order and a founder or a founder's company is disclosed by name and amount. No founder is compensated by the Order for 3 years. Full accounts are published every Day of the Work, on July 20.
Given Away
The Order wants to be the best steward of this technology among religions. The code for the treasury, the receipts, and the school payment kit is published so that any congregation, of any faith, can copy it, fork it, improve it, and run it. Truth is not a thing the Order keeps. It is a thing it shows.
